At the heart of a Costa Rican Nature
Preserve, Parque Nacional Marino
Las Baulas de Guanacaste - Playa Grande
is a huge beach of white sand along the Pacific Ocean. Playa
Grande Surf Camp is located in the northern Costa Rican province
of Guanacaste. Near to us is the town of Tamarindo.
This marine park is the permanent nesting site for leatherback turtles.
It provides a safe landing vital to the endangered leatherback turtle.
Female leatherbacks come ashore during the nights in October to
May to lay their eggs in the sand. They then cover the eggs and
return to the ocean. The eco-friendly Costa Rican government has
gone to great lengths to protect the habitat of these amazing animals.
This has allowed Playa Grande to remain a sanctuary for both the
turtles and surfers alike. Home of some of the best waves in the
country.
We will welcome you in our three Cabanas with A/C and two elevated
Cabanas with fan and balcony with 2 hammocks. In the surf camp are
available three bathrooms to share. There is a common kitchen and
a barbecue for our guests to share. We have a swimming pool, surfboards
to rent. A nearby restaurant has wireless internet, computers and telephone services. For all your meals
we are within walking distance to a few restaurants, and a small market. The tourist hub of Tamarindo - which has restaurants, groceries, shopping, art, crafts
and more is also within walking distance, with water taxis available to shuttle you across the river during the daytime..
